Healthy Snacks and Lunches

Please provide your child with healthy snacks and lunch items.  Our district is committed to creating a healthy school environment that enhances the development of lifelong wellness practices to promote healthy eating.  Suggested guidelines for choosing healthy snack and lunch items include:

1       Contains 300 calories or less

2       Contains 1 or more grams of fiber

3       Has at least 10% of Calcium, Iron,Vitamin A or Vitamin C

Items that follow these suggested guidelines are:

1       Fresh fruit or veggies

2       Animal Crackers

3       Low fat Popcorn

4       String Cheese

5       Granola Bar

Please place healthy snacks in a lunchbox or backpack.  We will be having our snacks in the afternoon.  Your child is welcome to bring a juice box for snack time. Otherwise, we have a drinking fountain in the room for the children to use.
